Small Business Legal Training Series: The Life Cycle of a Contract

As part of Black Connect’s launch of its pro bono legal program for small businesses, entrepreneurs and nonprofit organizations, attorneys from the law firm of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton will present an educational webinar on The Life Cycle of a Contract. 

The presentation will include an overview of contracting basics, including:  

  • Key terms to understand and consider when negotiating a contract;

  • Elements of a contract and the special rules of contract formation;

  • Contract enforceability, including oral contracts and illustrations of common situations where contracts may be void or voidable; and

  • Breach of contract and special considerations for COVID-19-related contract issues.

This training is the first in a series of legal basics modules intended to help support Black-owned and founded small businesses, entrepreneurs, and nonprofit organizations avoid costly mistakes and build sustainable businesses

Legal trainings are free to the general public. Registration is required.
